This is the first time an individual below 20 years of age has been included in the list. Further, Vohra and Palicha are the youngest start-up founders to make it to the Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022 list.
Kaivalya Vohra and Adit Palicha started Zepto two years back and became the youngest start-up founders in the country. Childhood friends and Stanford dropouts came up with the idea of starting an online grocery delivery service when they were unable to fetch basic groceries in their area during the lockdown induced due to the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the lockdown, they felt that the country needed a quick doorstep delivery platform for their essential needs. Its name is derived from the Zeptosecond, a unit of the standard that measures time.
To date, the net worth of Zepto is close to $ 900 million crores, while Vohra’s net worth is close to Rs 1,000 crores.
At present, Zepto is operating in 10 major cities in India and upto 1,000 employees work in the company that sells nearly 3,000 products on the platform.
