New Delhi: Telugu Film Director and legendary actor Allu Arjun’s most renowned film ‘Arya’ completed 20 years on 7th May and the director Sukumar and Producer Dil Raju was attending an event to celebrate 20 years of the film when they shared some candid confessions during the making of the film 20 years ago.
Sukumar said that initially Allu Arjun was not the first choice for the film, the makers first approached actor Ravi teja and Prabhas for the film. Prabhas couldn’t do it as he was tied up in other projects. Coincidentally Allu Arjun arrived and they asked him and he agreed. And the film turned out to be a milestone in his career. Actor Allu Arjun however feels this film is the biggest jump in his career. He also thanked the director for giving him the film.
During the event in Hyderabad, Allu Arjun said “If I had to use a metaphor to explain what ‘Arya’ means to me, I’d call it the single biggest jump in my life ever. I was at – 100. I didn’t start at zero. I started ‘Gangotri’ at zero. Despite the film being successful, I couldn’t make a mark. It was my mistake. From – 100, I went to + 100. That 200 per cent jump, I couldn’t top it in my life ever, and it won’t come. Many more hits can come and go, but it is the biggest jump, and it will always be.”
Producer Dil Raju who was present at the event said “Initially, we took Sukumar’s script to Ravi Teja and he liked it. Then, we went to Prabhas, but he was busy with two other films at that time. It was around the same time that we arranged a special screening of ‘Dil’ at Prasad Labs. There, we were talking about ‘Arya’. Interestingly, Allu Arjun arrived there, and I thought he would be the perfect choice for the film.”
