New Delhi: Among India’s film industry heavyweights, Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma stand head and shoulders above the others. Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma’s Killer Soup, which is based in part on a true story, will be available to watch on Netflix beginning January 11.
Abhishek Chaubey, renowned for his work on films like Udta Punjab, Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya, and others, directs this series, which stands out from the crowd of criminal thrillers thanks to its stellar ensemble and original plot.
In 2017, a lady from Telangana murdered her husband and then posed as his late wife. Their deadly food preference disparity was revealed when they were confronted with a bowl of mutton soup.
Storyline
Series protagonist Swati Shetty is a home chef with big hopes of becoming a restaurant owner, but she is just average at her job. Nevertheless, she and her lover resort to an extreme measure – substituting her husband for him – when a murder interrupts their plot.
To get her lover Umesh to pretend to be her husband, Prabhakar, Swati comes up with a ridiculous plan. But an unfortunate town inspector and some amateur criminals throw a wrench into the works, and chaos ensues.
How they deal with a surprise disruption that is part of the plot is what the programme is all about. Viewers will surely find the anarchy amusing and confusing.

Along with Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma, Killer Soup has an impressive ensemble cast that includes Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, Lal, Anbuthasan, Anula Navlekar, and Kani Kusruti. The series – Killer Soup will feature the acting prowess of two Bollywood heavyweights, Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sen Sharma.
Killer Soup is the first original series from India to debut on Netflix this year. Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik produced it. Killer Soup was written and produced by Abhishek Chaubey, Anant Tripathi, Unaiza Merchant, and Harshad Nalawade.
