New Delhi: In a new development in Umesh pal muder case, now a CCTV footage from Bareilly Jail has surfaced online. The video is of February 11, when Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf met Umesh Pal shooters in the jail.
In the CCTV footage from Barailly jail, all the eight shooters was captured.
The final meeting on Umesh Pal murder was held between Gangster Atiq Ahmed’s brother, Khalid Azim alias Ashraf and the shooters on February 11 which lasted for about 2 hours an d30 minutes.
Atiq’s brother Ashraf had applied for the meeting in the jain with the name of Mohammad Azhar.
Apart from Azar’s application, Asad’s aadhaar was used to get him inside the jail.
Judicial inquiry committee to probe Asad death
Meeanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Government has constituted a two-member judicial commission to probe the killing of gangsterp-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad in an encounter in the State.
The announcement was made on Sunday that the committee will be headed by Retired High Court judge Rajeev Lochan Mehrotra and retired DG Vijay Kumar Gupta.
Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf shot dead
Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead on April 15 by shooters who posed as press persons while they were being taken for medical examination in Prayagraj.
Atiq who was first shot at point blank range collapsed following which Ashraf was also shot and collapsed on the spot.
Gangster turned politician, Atiq Ahmed was accused in the murder case of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal in 2005 and also into the killing of Umesh Pal who was killed in February this year.
Judicial enquiry committee to probe murder of Ahmed brothers
The State governent has also announced a formation of three-member judicial enquiry committee to probe the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed. The enquiry comittee will be headed by Allahabad high court judge (retired) Arvind Kumar Tripathi.
The other two members of the committed include retired judge Brijesh Kumar Soni and former DGP Subesh Kumar Singh.
