New Delhi: Ajith Kumar and his wife Shalini are one of Kollywood’s power couples. They fell for each other during the filming of Aamar in 1991, and the rest, as they say, is destiny. The celebrity duo is celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary today.
Did you know, though, that Ajith Kumar was urged not to marry Shalini? Yes, if you’re wondering who counseled Ajith on such a thing, it was director and actor Ramesh Khanna.
Ramesh Khanna revealed that he was unaware of Ajith Kumar and Shalini’s connection at that point and encouraged him not to marry her. “I’m not looking at that because I’m working.” People will gossip, and you will not be able to stop them. They will do what they find fascinating, and I will do what I find fascinating which will establish the tone. I believe that is OK. And the truth is, I’m very pleased as long as I’m doing fantastic work and collaborating with directors I adore, and as long those around me accept and watch me.”
He found out about Ajith Kumar and Shalini’s relationship after director Saran playfully cautioned him of the dangers of informing the actor. Ramesh, on the other hand, subsequently disclosed that he visited Ajith and Shalini’s wedding the following year.
Ajith and Shalini agreed to marry in the year 2000. They married on April 24, 2000, after meeting with her family. Anoushka and Aadvik are the couple’s two children. Shalini, who became one of the most prominent actresses in the South, opted to leave cinema after her marriage because she wanted to prioritise her family.
Ajith Kumar has announced his next collaboration with Vignesh Shivan. However, it was subsequently revealed that the film would not be made since Ajith is seeking for a new director for his next project. Although the claims have not been proven, Vignesh has deleted AK 62 from his Twitter bio.
The actor is said to be working on his next project with filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni. According to media sources, the film was just formally released with a pooja ceremony in Chennai. However, it should be emphasised that the film has not yet been formally revealed. The cast and crew are also unknown at this time.
