New Delhi: Good news for WhatsApp users, as there are reports about Meta-owned popular messaging application WhatsApp reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to hide their phone numbers from select WhatsApp Groups.
Currently, the feature is under development.
According to the WABetaInfo- a website which tracks WhatsApp, said that WhatsApp users will soon be able to hide their phone numbers from their interlocutors. In this update, WhatsApp users phone number will be automatically hidden from all group members when one joins it, but later you can choose to share it with a particular subgroup if you want to.
It is also said that the messaging app will be releasing the update through the Google Play beta programme, using the Android 2.22.17.23 beta.
Also the development was announced by Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday. He said WhatsApp will be introducing three new privacy features to users.
These WhatsApp features will allow its users to control over their conversations and added layers of protection when messaging.
The WhatsApp features will add it to other privacy features that have been available for users.
