New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday that people cutting across community lines welcomed Supreme Court’s verdict in favour of Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya as much because of their belief in communal harmony, as for the truth in the devotees’ claim.

Addressing an event organised by Vidya Bharati at Sarsawati Kunj in Lucknow to celebrate Amrit Mahotsava by honouring the valour of Indian martyrs and jawans, Yogi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi one leader who has risen above politics of appeasement and divisive agenda to work for “Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat”.

“PM saw to it that Article 370 was abolished. He is also working tirelessly for the conservation of India’s cultural ethos”, CM remarked adding that though India became independent in 1947, it did not have the desired growth because of the politics of appeasement followed by the governments of those days.

“In the last eight years of PM Modi’s governance at the centre, three crore poor people have got houses, 10 crore have got toilets, 8 crore have got LPG connections and 4 crore have got electricity connections. All these remained elusive for seven decades”, CM Yogi said.

The Chief Minister added that the Government not only developed vaccines for Covid-19 within nine months of the outbreak of the pandemic, but also provided free test, treatment and vaccination, in addition to providing free ration to 80 crore people for two years, which was unimaginable during previous governments when vaccines came to India from abroad much after its development when the epidemic was on verge of eradication in other parts of the world.

Congratulating Vidya Bharati for launching this campaign to honour India’s martyrs and brave soldiers, Yogi said that the institute was playing commendable role in grooming a generation of nationalistic youth.

He said that Vidya Bharati, which was started in 1952 at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, connected 40 lakh students with online classes during Covid. He urged the school authorities to not to lag behind in adopting new technologies. CM Yogi also released a number of books on the occasion.
