Mumbai Cruise : Will Ayan Khan get bail? Court to decide at 2.45 pm

New Delhi: A special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court in Mumbai is to hear bail plea of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and two others, on Wednesday. Earlier, Court had reserved order for 20th October on the bail application of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha.

The hearing at Mumbai’s special sessions court which was adjourned on October 14, was in connection with the case related to seizure of drugs following a raid at a party on the Cordelia cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2. The raid was conducted by a team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

# Senior lawyer Amit Desai, who represents Khan in the case, has arrived in the special court along with some junior lawyers. The court is expected to begin the hearing at around 2:30 PM, reports.

# The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in its reply had filed in the special court said that the agency’s investigation has revealed Aryan Khan’s role in illicit procurement and distribution of contraband. ASG Anil Singh seeks more time to probe international link in the case.

# Lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar on Tuesday, in pretext of Aryan Khan’s case said to the media during an event, “I’ve not seen any headline on recovery of cocaine worth 1 billion dollars at a port but the recovery of charas or ganja worth 1.30 lakh, where only 1200 people were present, has become big national news. This is the price the film industry has to pay for being high profile because when you are so, people want to pull you down.”

#A Shiv Sena leader filed a petition in Supreme Court on Monday, seeking a judicial enquiry into affairs of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and its officials at Mumbai and to protect the fundamental rights of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

# Inside the Arthur Road jail, Aryan Khan has been served with meals cooked inside the prison only. Shahrukh Khan had sent him Rs 4,500 through money order last week.
