New Delhi: Delhi Court discharges Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in connection with Sunanda Pushkar death case.

Pushkar was found dead in a suite of a luxury hotel in the city on the night of January 17, 2014.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, husband of Sunanda Pushkar was the main accused in the matter according to the Delhi Police.

Tharoor had been charged under under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 498A (cruelty by husband towards wife) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

After being discharged of all the charges in wife Sunanda Pushkar death case, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said “…Significant conclusion to long nightmare which had enveloped me after the tragic passing of Sunanda…Fact that justice has been done will allow all of us in the family to mourn Sunanda in peace.”

Meanwhile, Subramanian Swamy said that if DP appeals against this Order in the High Court, then he will again seek to intervene.
