New Delhi: After some protesters attacked the car of BJP leader Babita Phogat in the Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana, she said that ‘these are not farmers, they are opposition rioters’. Babita is the chairperson of Haryana Women Development Corporation in Manohar Lal Khattar government. She had gone to the villages as part of the ruling party’s “Seva Hi Sangathan” program to mark the seventh anniversary of the Narendra Modi government in the Centre.

While she was in Birhi Kalan village some farmers attacked her car by banging lathis on the vehicle and damaging windows. Babita said in a press conference that her son was also present in the car while also asking that who would have been responsible if something had happened to him. She said that in the disguise of farmers, opposition workers were attacking the BJP leaders.

She even replied to a lady on Twitter by saying that only a mother can understand her fear and pain she was feeling when she was in the car with her son.

She also said that when she won the Olympics medal she represented the whole country and not just a particular community, so, why she is suddenly being attacked and abused. Babita joined the BJP in 2019 but lost the elections.
