Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha has declared the recent heavy snowfall in the Union Territory as a State Specific Natural Calamity under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) act .
The (LG) said that 4×4 rescue vehicles, ambulances will be provided to all the districts with immediate effect for the relief of common people.
The Lieutenant Governor (LG) also gave directions for rationalizing deployment of machinery and equipment for clearing snow from roads and make necessary emergency facilities available to render critical help in emergency situations.
The Lieutenant Governor (LG) also lauded the efforts of employees working on ground 24×7 in challenging climatic conditions.
The (LG) directed the Jammu and KAshmir administration to identify gaps and make concerted efforts to fill the same to redress the concerning issues of the people.
