The 6,725 cases came out today as the highest till now in Delhi and 48 as the new number of deaths according to the Delhi health department. The reason for the huge rise of COVID-19 cases can be the festive season and rising pollution from last few days and Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal calls it the the third wave of corona virus in the national capital.

“We have been monitoring the situation continuously and there is no need to panic. We will take whatever steps are needed,” he added further.

He says The government’s priority is to give the best treatment and healthcare facilities to corona virus patients in Delhi and to keep the death rate as low as possible and there was no shortage of beds for coronavirus patients in the city.

“Whereas, there is shortage of ICU beds in some big, private hospitals. But we are trying to set things right,” he added.

“The Delhi government had increased ICU beds in private hospitals but unfortunately, the Delhi High Court stayed our decision. We are moving to Supreme Court today to urge it to vacate the stay,” said Kejriwal.
