New Delhi: It was a nail biting match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants. And the star of the show was none other than Mumbai Indian’s Harmanpreet Kaur who has displayed spectacular performance with an unbeaten knock of 95 runs. The 35 year old Right Hand Batsmen played with an exceptional grit and determination and ensured her team’s victory like an unstoppable fighter.
About Harmanpreet Kaur’s Early Life
Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar was born on 8th March 1989 in Moga, Punjab. Her younger sister is a Post Graduate in English and works as an Assistant Professor in Guru Nanak College. Her father also had a passion for cricket but currently working as a clerk in a Judicial Court. He was her first coach when she started playing cricket. Harmanpreet took to cricket after joining the Gyan Jyoti School Academy. She used to play with men in the initial days of her career. She moved to Mumbai in 2014 and started working for Indian Railways.
Harmanpreet was inspired by Virendra Sehwag
She plays for Mumbai Indians and is the only woman cricketer with more than 3000 runs in T20s and is also one of the three Indian woman to have scored more than 300 runs in Women’s One Day Internationals. She became the first cricketer for India to play in 100 International 20-20 matches. She plays as an All-Rounder for all Indian Women’s Cricket Team. Harmanpreet was deeply inspired by Virendra Sehwag. She has got an Arts degree from Chaudhary Charan Singh University of Meerut. She made her ODI debut against Pakistan’s Women Team when she was 20 years old. She was named as Indian’s Women Captain for 2012 Women’s 20-20 Asia Cup as captain Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami were out due to injuries. She made her debut as Captain against Pakistan Women’s.
