New Delhi: Karan Johar, a renowned director, said in a recent episode of the famous talk show “Koffee with Karan Season 8” that the response to the episode starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone “angered” him.
Karan Johar has responded to the persistent trolling that has been directed against the first episode of the 8th season of his talk show, Koffee with Karan. Viewers were quick to speculate that the marriage of real-life actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh was in crisis after the episode featuring the pair aired.
While discussing the topic of social media trolling with guests Arjun Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar said that the most recent episode he made with Deepika and Ranveer was one of the “most honest and heartfelt” ones.
He added, “I think all three of kind of came clean on so much of our emotional heft, so many of our feelings. And then there was a ridiculous kind of aftereffect. I just want to put it out there that the episode angered me, and the reaction angered me.”
He again stated, “They were outstandingly honest. They were earnest. They spoke so much. They shared so much. They were so gracious. And then you’re f*cking talking about some nonsense…”
About the Episode with Ranveer and Deepika
Deepika and Ranveer made an appearance together on the KWK this season, despite rumours of a split in their marriage. In addition to sharing first-look footage from their wedding film, they discussed their love story, courtship, and marriage as well as the difficulties they faced. Their alleged efforts to mend their marriage were the subject of much speculation in the highly seen programme.
Deepika admitted in the first KWK episode, “There was no ‘commitment’ as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.”
Many people took to social media to express their thoughts on her statement; some praised her honesty, while others blasted her for her choices in the past.
