New Delhi: Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) is planning to establish a high-speed train corridor that will interlink three major cities around Delhi, namely Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram. While the initial plan is to ply the train between Faridabad and Noida, it will get extended to Gurugram in future.

Once completed, the high-speed train corridor will enable Faridabad residents to travel to Gurugram and Noida in just half an hour. Currently, it takes more than 2 hours to commute between these two cities (by road) as heavy traffic jams are witnessed on the route.

The ambitious high-speed train corridor will not only make commuting between these 3 cities easier for the masses but will also lead to spike in the property rates of nearby areas.

As per the proposed Master Plan 2041, the work on high-speed train corridor may begin along with Green Expressway. As per the proposed plan, the first phase of high-speed train will be built near Green Expressway connecting Jewar in Noida. Later, the route may be altered as per the demography requirement.

Urgent need for robust transport system
Faridabad has fast emerged as a housing destination for those working in Delhi & adjoining NCR. Every day, thousands of office goers & businessmen commute from Faridabad to Noida & Gurugram and vice-versa but there is a dire need for proper & robust public transport.

Currently, traveling to Noida and Gurugram is not only extra time-consuming but also leaves you exhausted. For commuting to Noida, one has to first visit Badarpur border, a bottleneck on the way, and then take public transport to Noida.

Many leading business heads & company honchos have welcomed the prospect of the launch of a high-speed train corridor on the route.
