Consumption of diet high in sugar & fat, junk foods, poor sleep habits, excess use of antibiotics &even stress can affect the gut microbiome& results in various diseases.

Our second brain
It is interesting to know that our gut is also known as our second brain. You must have noticed upset stomach before any presentation or any important event all this happens because our gut & brain has a direct connection. Any amount of stress & anxiety can affect movement & contraction of our gut& results in gut discomfort. Even gut when in discomfort can send signals directly to our brain which can cause depression & mood changes.

Can we do something?
Gut health can be improved by adding more colors to your meals including variety of fruits & green leafy vegetables, whole grains, legumes, omega 3, nuts & seeds into your diet.Various studies have shown that adding prebiotics& probiotics in our dietcan also improve gut health as it supports the growth of good microorganisms in our gut.

It is equally important not to take unnecessary antibiotics as itcannot differentiate between good & bad bacteria hence end up killing both good & bad bacteria which can lead to imbalance of gut microbiomes which further leads to different diseases.

Data shows that proper sleep, exercise & adopting stress relieving techniques like meditation are equally important to improve your gastric discomforts. Gut health if taken care keeps the whole body healthy & saves us from many diseases.
