Delhi record season’s lowest temperature today, trains running late

New Delhi: The primary weather station of Delhi, Safdarjung observatory has recorded a low of 3 degrees Celsius today. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), this is Delhi’s lowest recorded temperature of this season.

Due to the cold weather conditions and low visibility, Delhi Airport has issued a fog alert today for the air passengers. According to the officials, all flight operations are normal for now but it can differ further depending on the visibility. The passengers are requested to contact the airlines prior to get an updated information. However, the low visibility procedures are underway, authorities added.

Meanwhile, considering the foggy weather and low in visibility, many trains are running late from the scheduled time. At least two trains have been rescheduled in the Northern Railway region and 12 trains are running late.

As per the reports by IMD, states like Punjab, Haryana and Delhi could witness dense to very dense fog today. Besides, some pockets of Uttar Pradesh and some isolated pockets over Uttarakhand could see the same weather conditions. Meanwhile, some pockets of Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi could experience cold day to severe cold day conditions and states like Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan may likely to witness cold day conditions.

According to India Meteorological Department, cold wave to severe cold wave may likely cover some pockets of northeast Rajasthan and some isolated pockets of northwest Rajasthan. Apart from that, some isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi could see cold wave conditions.
