New Delhi, Jain monk Tarun Sagar, 51, passes away in New Delhi. Sagar was a popular Jain Muni and had a massive following in the Jain community and even outside.
According to initial reports pouring in , he was admitted to a private hospital few days ago after he was diagnosed with jaundice.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tarun Sagar will be “remembered for his rich ideals and contribution to society”.
“Deeply pained by the untimely demise of Muni Tarun Sagar Ji Maharaj. We will always remember him for his rich ideals, compassion and contribution to society. His noble teachings will continue inspiring people. My thoughts are with the Jain community and his countless disciples,” he tweeted with pictures of the monk.
There was a major uproar when Bollywood music composer Vishal Dadlani had made some sathing remarks and questioning Tarun Sagar’s lecture at Haryana assembly.
There was sharp criticism on Dadlani’s remark and a court case was filed on the music composure. Later Dadlani had tendered an apology to the Jain monk in full public glare.
