“No question of apologising. If you want to hang me, then you can…”: Cong MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on his ‘Rashtrapatni’ remark

New Delhi: Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury a day after his ‘Rashtrapatni’ remark for President Droupadi Murmu, he said that there is no question of apologising.

He further said that he had had mistakenly said ‘Rashtrapatni’, but now “if you want to hang me for it, then you can…the ruling party in a deliberate design trying to make mountain out of a molehill.”

This statement comes at a time when BJP MPs are protesting against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the Parliament and demanding a apology from him.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is also protesting against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for his Rashtrapatni’ remark.

Earlier, Union minister Smriti Irani on Thursday slammed Congress for demeaning the women and the tribals of India after Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury referred to President of India Droupadi Murmu as ‘Rashtrapatni’.

Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury made this controversial comment during Congress’s protests against ED questioning Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case.
