Girl uploads video on Udaipur butchery, gets rape & death threats; Kashmir man held

New Delhi: A team of Mumbai police nabbed a man from Kashmir who threatened to rape & murder a 16-year-old girl, after she uploaded a video against the brutal killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur. The girl recorded a video on Facebook against the ghastly murder of Hindu tailor by Islamic radicals.

Soon after she uploaded the video on social media, she started getting threats of rape & murder. The accused named Fayaz Ahmed Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Kashmir, reportedly traced her phone number and started sending rape & death threats to her via call & WhatsApp.

Alarmed at the gravity of situation, the girl’s family approached police, following which she has been given police protection. According to a leading daily, the accused used different numbers to send threatening messages to the girl.

The girl is a social media influencer and has huge following. Moments after uploading the video on Udaipur butchery, her video received over 14 lakh views. According to police, the girl was receiving barrage of molestation and death threats on her WhatsApp & via calls.

The Mumbai cops launched a probe & reached Kashmir, searching for him. The cops found his mobile phone linked a matrimonial website and unearthing further information, traced him to Kashmir. The 30-year-old Mohammad Bhatt was arrested by Mumbai cops from VP road police station.

The police team arrested the accused in Budgam district and brought him to Mumbai for further grilling. According to DCP Neelotpal, the accused was Bhatt has been remanded to police custody for three days.

Past few days have been quite troublesome as many people in last few days received similar threats for posting or sharing any content on Udaipur killing. In Maharashtra’s Amravati, a medical shop owner Umesh Kohle was hacked to death by radicals, for just sharing a post on Udaipur killers.
