New Delhi: There has been a lot of talk about the South film industry taking over Bollywood, especially with films like RRR, Pushpa, and KGF 2. However, quality thinks this is good, and the figures that South films generate in the Hindi market are staggering. We wanted to know how Bollywood stars are reacting to this, so we asked them:

1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui:

One blunder we made was to keep creating remakes of South films. The major issue here is with the writers and storylines; we aren’t producing any originals and are instead relying on remakes. I believe we should learn from that blunder and begin producing new movies. That would be preferable.

2. Salman Khan:

Heroism always works because there is a connection, which is crucial for success (cine-goers) We’ve had this pattern since the days of Salim-Javed, but now they’re (South Indian filmmakers) taking it to the next level.

3. Sanjay Dutt:

The Hindi cinema industry, I believe, has forgotten about larger-than-life heroes. I’m not arguing that rom-com or slice-of-life movies are awful. But why have we forgotten about our Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan audiences?

4. Raveena Tondon:

There was a loss of Indian culture in our movies in the 1990s. They had such a strong effect on their culture when I used to go shooting down south. That kind of scenario would be the focus of the films. The people would immediately recognize them, and they would be super-hits.

5. Akshay Kumar:

I don’t believe it should be viewed as a competition. There is no point in competing. We all want to appear on the big screen and profit from it. As a result, there’s no use in fighting about it; instead, it should be a collaborative effort. It should continue to grow.
