New Delhi: The upcoming Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2 has already surpassed the advance booking record of The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Yash-starrer movie’s Hindi version has already made a profitable advance ticket booking worth Rs 21 crore with four days left to its release.

On the contrary, the Hindi version of RRR had managed to earn just over 5 crores in terms of advanced booking. According to trade analysts, the Kannada film has managed to earn Rs 20 crore in advance bookings across all languages in north India only.

As per the tweet made by a film trade analysis platform Indian Box Office, the film has already sold tickets amounting to Rs 20 crore in North India, including Rs 11.4 crore for the Hindi version alone.

Besides, the film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the “phenomenal” craze for the film in the Hindi branch. His tweet reads, “KGF 2′ 6 AM shows and more…#KGF2 advance booking PHENOMENAL. Morning shows to start as early as 6 am in #Mumbai and #Pune. Ticket prices at *select locations*: ₹ 1450 / ₹ 1500 per seat [#Mumbai] and ₹ 1800 / ₹ 2000 per seat [#Delhi]. #Toofan is arriving”

Directed by Prasanth Neel, the KGF: Chapter 2 is the sequel to the 2018 hit KGF: Chapter 1. The first film had grossed Rs 250 crore globally. As the sequel has been gaining crazy fans outside Karnataka and its release in theatres will easily surpass the previous record.

The movie is about the rise of Rocky (Yash), a smuggler who attempts to take over the gold mining empire in Kolar Gold Fields. Apart from Yash, the movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prakash Raj.

The movie will be hitting the big screens on April 14. Earlier, the film was set to release along with Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. However, on Monday, the makers of Jersey postponed the release date of Jersey to April 22. Many speculate that this has been done owing to the massive advance booking rate of KGF: Chapter 2.
