New Delhi: The untimely demise of 13 soldiers, including CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, has put the whole country in grief.

On one hand, people across the country are trying to pay their last respects to them in their own way, but on the other hand some fanatic Islamic people are targeting the real heroes of the country. This attitude has deeply disappointed Malayalam filmmaker Ali Akbar.

Akbar, who hails from Kerala has announced that he and his wife Lucyamma embrace Hinduism and will no longer be Muslims. The director came on Facebook Live and said that he was abandoning Islam.

In the past, Ali Akbar made a live video of Bipin Rawat’s martyrdom, on which some fanatics had put a laughing emoji. As most of them belonged to his own community, Ali Akbar’s sentiments were deeply hurt by this attitude of the people.

He talked about his hurt feelings on the Facebook Live. Paying tribute to Bipin Rawat, Akbar said, “This can never be accepted and that is why I am leaving my religion. Me and my family no longer have a religion”.

Akbar said, “Even the highest religious clerics and leaders of Islam have not opposed such acts of traitors, those who have insulted a brave military officer. He have lost faith in religion now”.

“From now on I am not a Muslim. I am only citizen of India. This decision of mine is a reply to those people who posted emoji against India” he further added.

This is to be noted that his account was suspended by Facebook, describing his post inappropriate as per the platform’s guidelines.

Later, while talking to the media, Akbar said that while he and his wife will be converting to Hinduism in a religious ceremony, he will not force his two daughters to convert and will leave it to their choice.
