New Delhi: The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly angry with team head coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli with the recent developments in England. As per reports, Shastri-Kohli attended a crowded event in London, and eventually, the Head coach turned out to be covid positive.

Aside from Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar also came out to be covid positive while physio Nitin Patel has been kept isolated.

According to reports, Shastri-Kohli went to the book launch event with some other team members. The room was full of people and BCCI is angry with this negligence as this could possibly go wrong for the team India during the covid pandemic.

It is being reported that Team India didn’t take the proper clearance from the BCCI to attend the event and the board is on the probe seeking explanations from the members.

A top BCCI official told The Times of India that, “Photos from the event have been shared with BCCI officials. The board will probe the matter. This incident has left the board embarrassed. The coach and the captain will be asked to explain the circumstances after the fourth Test at Oval. The team’s administrative manager Girish Dongre’s role is also under the scanner,”

As per sources, BCCI is probing the role of the team’s administrative manager Girish Dongre and the board is in constant touch with the English Cricket Board to assure that such incidents will not happen in the future.
