New Delhi: Not long ago, India’s highest sports honor, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan Award was changed to ‘Major Dhyan Chandra Khel Ratan Award’, post Tokyo Olympics. The decision was applauded by many, however criticized by the Indian National Congress.

Now, the image of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is absent from among the other freedom fighters, on the official website of Indian council of Historical Research. The image was uploaded by ICHR, pertaining to Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrated by I&B ministry.

Information and Broadcasting Ministry is celebrating Iconic Week from 23rd to 29th of this month as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Various media units of the Ministry have planned various activities to mark the occasion.

However, Nehru’s omission from the website has offended Shiv Sena’s MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, who have taken strong objection on the matter. Priyanka shared a post on twitter with caption, “You can never look big if you diminish the role of others in the creation of an Independent India. Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav can only be celebrated when it acknowledges role of all. By omitting India’s first PM, ICHR reflects its own pettiness& insecurity”.

Netizens took a dig on Priyanka for her objections on the matter, despite resigning from Congress long back and joining Shiv Sena.
