New Delhi, Reliance Jio will open its registrations for the Jio GigaFiber tomorrow, August 15 or Independence Day. Jio’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service is expected to provide internet data at a lightning speed of 1GBPS and tariff rates starting at Rs 500. It won’t be a surprise if Reliance Jio brings this service at 50 percent discounted price to counter its rivals.

Jio is already running beta trials in few cities and from tomorrow, Independence Day, 15 August, interested ones can register to get the Jio GigaFiber. If you are a Jio phone user then you can simply go to MyJio app and register while others can go to Jio.com and do the registration process on www.jio.com by giving their name, email id and telephone number.

Although the company has not announced the tariff plan of Jio GigaFiber, but rumours in the past rumours suggest that Jio Fiber could offer as much as 1.1 TB  free data to its users after paying a refundable security amount of Rs. 4,500. The default plan will offer 100 GBs of free data per month at 100Mbps speed. Subscribers can also avail 40GB of additional data in the form of top-ups with a limit of 25 times in a month – effectively obtaining 1,100GB data.

The Jio Fiber fixed line broadband will offer speed up to 100 Mbps along with unlimited voice and video calls over a VoIP phone, and access to the Jio TV app. If compared with broadband services offered by Bharti Airtel that offers 300Mbps at a monthly rental of Rs. 2,199.
