New Delhi: In a major development, governors of several states were appointed on Tuesday. While Thawarchand Gehlot has been designated as governor of Karnataka, Bandaru Dattatreya is the new governor of Haryana.
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka, a press release from Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
The President of India made the following appointments/Changes:
1.P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, Governor of Mizoram is transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa.
2. Satyadev Narayan Arya, Governor of Haryana is transferred and appointed as Governor of Tripura.
3. Ramesh Bais, Governor of Tripura is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jharkhand.
4. Thaawarchand Gehlot as Governor of Karnataka.
5. Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor of Himachal Pradesh is transferred and appointed as Governor of Haryana.
6 .Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati as Governor of Mizoram.
7. Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel as Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
8. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
