‘Solar Eclipse’ Today : Do’s and Don’ts for pregnant ladies

New Delhi: The first Surya Grahan of 2021 will be witnessed today as it will mark the Annular Solar Eclipse 2021, that is, Ring of Fire.

Solar Eclipse happens when Moon comes exactly between Sun and Earth, creating a ring-like structure around the Moon.

Although Solar Eclipse will seen in some parts of India like Arunachal Pradesh at around 5:58pm, it will however be visible in parts of Canada, Greenland and Russia, while Upper Midwest and East Coast people will witness a partial solar eclipse.

At this period of time, every country has its own set of beliefs and myths and one such belief is related to ‘pregnant women’.

Astrologers and scientists believe that solar eclipse can affect pregnancy, as during eclipse evil forces gets activated and can harm the pregnant women.

What should Pregnant ladies Do?

-It is believed that at the time of Surya Grahan also known as Solar Eclipse pregnant ladies should stay indoors and avoid coming.

-To help onself and the baby from any effects, one should recite prayers or chant mantras such as Maha Mrutyunjaya Mantra, Vishnu Mantras and Surya Mantras during the solar eclipse.

-It is also said that that to be mothers should not sleep during this period (Surya Garhan).

– One should take a bathe before and after the solar eclipse

– Believers also suggests that to avoid the rays inside the house, one must cover the windows with thick curtains.

What should Pregnant ladies Not Do?

– Soon to be mothers should not consume food, cook, etc, during surya grahan

– Also, she should avoid using any sharp object during this period

-She should avoid looking at the Sun
