New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan marked his 48th anniversary with Jaya Bachchan by sharing a couple of throwback photos on social media on Thursday. The actor posted some photos from the day of his wedding in June 1973. Big B posted the photo on Instagram while captioning it as: “June 3, 1973… Thank you all for your greetings on our anniversary.”
The veteran actor also thanked his fans in his latest blog entry: “Thank you all for your immense gratitude for the wishes for Jaya and me on our wedding anniversary… June 1973… Now 48 years.” The actor added in his blog, “Your wishes and your gracious words have been most moving and filled with love for us… And we truly appreciate them… For today and now.”
Actress Bhumi Pednekar also commented on the photo as she called the couples ‘legends’.
Big B got married to Jaya Bachchan June 1973 and since then they have worked together in many hits such as Zanjeer, Sholay, Abhimaan, Mili, Chupke Chukpe and Silsila among many others. Although Jaya acted only a few films after the births of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. Their last outing on the silver screen was in 2016 film ‘Ki and Ka’.
