New Delhi: The year 2020 saw major developments on the content front with web-series taking up most of the space on streaming services. Pataal Lok, Arya, Mirzapur Season 2, Scam 1992 were some of the most talked about web shows of 2020. With theatres being shut in the wake of the pandemic, the over-the-top giants witnessed saw never-seen-before growth. Therefore, the quality of content on OTT platforms also improved subsequently.

The heightening of availability and dependency on streaming services has now raised expectations from Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Plus Hotstar and SonyLIV among other giants. As we mark new beginnings, it would be intriguing to see what 2021 has in store for the audience.

Here’s a list of upcoming series that were announced last year and are scheduled to be streamed on various platforms this year.

Tandav

One of the most-anticipated projects, Tandav stars Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, Anup Soni and Hiten Tejwani among others in pivotal roles. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the web-series will hit streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on January 15.

The Family Man 2

Manoj Bajpayee recently answered the most asked question that is when the season 2 of The Family Man will be available. Sharing a poster of the season 2, the actor remarked that it is expected to be out in February on Amazon Prime Video. The show marks the digital debut of South Indian sensation Samantha Akkineni. The Family Man also stars Sharib Hashmi, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar and Shreya Dhanwantary in pivotal roles.

Broken But Beautiful 3

Two seasons of Ekta Kapoor’s romantic drama Broken But Beautiful starring Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi in lead roles received much loves from the viewers. Ever since the second season concluded, fans have been waiting for the third season. In a major relief, last month it was announced that Broken But Beautiful Season 3 is indeed on cards and will see its release in 2021. However, it will have a new start with Sidharth Shukla and Sonia Sethi on board.

Mumbai Diaries 26/11

As suggested by the title, Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is set against the backdrop of heart-wrenching terror attack on Mumbai. Created by Nikkhil Advani, the series will present the deadly attack from the perception of frontline workers, including health staff, doctors and nurses, who worked tirelessly to save lives.

LSD: Love Scandal and Doctors

The medical thriller, featuring Rahul Dev, Siddharth Menon and Punit Pathak, revolves around a murder and its findings. It will showcase power, politics, nepotism and competition that are prevalent in the society. The show will stream on ALTBalaji soon.
