Bihar Elections 2020: Second phase of polls on Tuesday … These big guns will be in fray

Patna: The Bihar elections 2020 are being held in three phases. The first phase of voting took place on October 28, while the second phase will be held on Tuesday, November 3.

Election campaigning for the second phase came to a halt in the polling areas on Sunday evening. In the election campaign on the last day, all parties put in their full strength.

Many veterans are in the fray

Polling is to be held in 94 seats in the second phase. In the second phase, Road Construction Minister Nandkishore Yadav from Patna Sahib, Cooperative Minister Randhir Singh from Madhuban, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar from Nalanda, Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur, Former Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav from Hasanpur are in the fray. Love Sinha, son of former Bollywood star and MP Shatrughan Sinha will also try his luck.

According to the Election Commission, the fate of 1,463 candidates is to be decided in this phase, of which 1316 are male, 146 are female and one belongs to the third gender. In the second phase, more than two crore 85 lakh voters will exercise their franchise.

A total of 41,362 polling stations have been set up for this phase. In this phase, The maximum number of 27 candidates are contesting from the Maharajganj assembly constituency. A total of four candidates are in the fray at the Darauli assembly constituency, which is the lowest.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed four election rallies on behalf of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday. Meanwhile RJD leader and Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav addressed more than a dozen rallies on behalf of the Grand Alliance.

JD-U leader and chief minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and actor and MP Manoj Tiwari also took part in the campaign for the second phase of the Bihar election 2020. Many leaders also joined the campaign from the Grand Alliance.

A total of 56 candidates of the RJD and 43 candidates of JDU, 46 of BJP, 24 of Congress, four of CPI, four of CPM, 52 of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and 36 of RLSP are in the fray for the second phase of the Bihar election 2020.

In the Bihar election 2020, political commentators are predicting a direct competition between the NDA and the grand alliance of opposition parties. The BJP-led NDA also comprises the JDU, Hindustani Awam Morcha and the Vikas Insaan Party. The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), which is an NDA ally at the Center, is contesting the polls separately.

Here, the Mahagathbandhan includes the RJD, Congress and the Left parties CPI, CPM and CPI (ML). The Bihar elections 2020 are being held in three phases for a total of 243 assembly seats. Under this, 71 seats have been voted for the first phase on October 28. The third phase of voting will be held on November 7 for 78 seats.

The counting of votes for the Bihar election 2020 will take place on November 10.
