New Delhi: The party has released its manifesto for the assembly elections in Bihar which start on October 28.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman formally released the manifesto which promises 19 lakh jobs and free coronavirus vaccination for all in the state.
The party also insisted that ally Nitish Kumar should be the chief minister for the next five years. The BJP’s promise is being seen as an attempt to defuse opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav’s promise of “10 lakh government jobs”.
In Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) rallies, Tejashwi Yadav is fiercely attacking the Nitish Kumar-led government for unemployment in the state. In two recent rallies, Nitish Kumar had lashed out at Tejashwi’s promises of giving jobs and had called him naive.
The BJP slammed Tejashwi’s promise and asked where the money would come for 10 lakh jobs.
BJP’s promises:
– 19 lakh job opportunities
– Free COVID-19 vaccination for all in Bihar
– 3 lakh new teachers appointments
– Making Bihar an IT hub to generate 10 lakh jobs
– Making one crore women self-reliant
– One lakh jobs in the health sector
– Pakka houses for 3 million people
– Free tablet for all students from class 9
The elections will be held in three phases this year. Voting will be held in the 243-member assembly on October 28, November 3, and November 7. The result of the elections will be announced on November 10.
