Helsinki: Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin has sparked a raging controversy in her country with a bold photoshoot, which has caught everyone’s eye and became viral on social media.
The photoshoot by Sanna Marin – who holds the record of being the youngest female prime minister in the world – has sparked controversy in the political world.Sanna Marin posed in the October issue of the ‘Trendi’ magazine wearing a blazer without anything to wear inside. In the photoshoot, it has been very clear that she hasn’t worn even an inner garment.
The photoshoot has been widely criticized on social media. However, some people have also praised the photoshoot done by the prime minister.
Mari Palosallo-Jusinmaki, director of women’s media in the magazine group that publishes the ‘Trendi’ magazine, said in an interview with CNN that there has been a “huge” uproar in Finland over the photoshoot.
She further added that the men would state that the photo clicked was a ‘wrong’ move, while the women would state that the photo captured was brilliant. Sanna Marin made global headlines earlier this year when she attended the EU summit in Brussels.Marin started her political life at the age of just 20 when she was completing her graduation.
During this time she joined the youth unit of the Social Democratic Party of Finland and started working for the youth and party. She then won the City Council elections. She gained worldwide popularity through videos on YouTube presiding over controversial topics.In 2014, Marin was elected the second deputy chairperson of the Social Democratic Party. In 2015, she was elected to the Finnish Parliament as an MP from the electoral district of Pirkanama.
A few years after that, she was re-elected. On 6 June 2019, she became the Minister of Transport and Communications. After the resignation of Antti Rinne, she took over the charge of the Prime Minister’s office on December 8, 2019.
