IPL 2020: KKR to promote West Indies skipper Andre Russell to bat at number 3 position

NEW DELHI: With the thirteenth edition of the popular Indian Premier League approaching, teams are now gearing up to put their best front on the ground.

Talking about teams,  KKR is all set to present Andre Russell at number THREE hoping to get more runs from his bat. Andre Russell has shown his worth in many previous tournaments of Indian Premier League by hitting numerous runs for his team in the crucial overs.

In IPL 2019, Russell scored a total 510 runs in just 13 innings while batting at lower middle order for most of the tournament, making an important assey for the team with an average of 56.66 and strike rate of 204.81. KKR has put its faith in Russell and hopes that the strategy will provide them with lots of winning and hopefully the tournament trophy.

Coach Brendom McCullum and mentor David Hussey even plan to make Eoin Morgan as the vice captain of the team under the leadership of Dinesh Karthik.

Eoin Morgan , the former world cup winning captain for England, is a classy player and performer on the field.

‘He is a very cool, calm and collected person. He’s also going to be very heavy in the middle order controlling things. I do expect them to both have a really good relationship on and off the field and I think it’s going to go a long way to having a cool and calm head to winning many games during a very tight tournament.” Hussey said it in a news conference.
