New Delhi: The Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website has been hacked.
The hacker called for bitcoin in donations for the COVID-19 relief fund. However, bogus tweets were deleted soon after hacking. The tweet related to the cryptocurrency was tweeted on the Twitter account of the Prime Minister’s personal website.
However, the account was later recovered.
Hackers said in a tweet that they would donate to the PM National Relief Fund through cryptocurrency. On the Twitter account of PM Modi’s personal website, a message was written that “I appeal to you guys to donate to PM Modi Relief Fund for COVID-19”.
There were about half a dozen tweets on PM Modi’s Twitter handle. The entire tweet demanded a donation of money.
In another tweet, the hacker wrote, “This account has been hacked by John Wick.”
It is believed that a link to PM Modi’s personal website was registered.
The verified Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website has more than 25 lakh followers. It is worth noting that a few days ago, hackers hacked the accounts of big politicians, businessmen and celebrities of Bollywood and demanded cryptocurrency.
These included former US President Barack Obama, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, US presidential election candidate Joe Biden.
Twitter said it is aware of the case and has taken steps to secure the account. A Twitter spokesperson said that the social media giant is actively investigating the situation.
