Indian Idol 11 winner Sunny Hindustani takes trophy, wins Rs 25 lakh and a car

New Delhi: The TV reality show Indian Idol 11 saw its much-awaited grand finale on Sunday. The show went through many ups and downs leaving its audience thoroughly connected to the show. The grand finale of the show was one complete entertaining ride with performances from judges and contestants. Ayushmannn Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar along with the team of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan were also present at the occasion.

Ankona Mukherjee, Adriz Ghosh, Ridham Kalyan, Sunny Hindustani and Rohit Raut were among the five finalists who were in the race to take the trophy  home.

More than 5 crores votes were cast to choose the winner, and finally Sunny Hindustani emerged as the winner of Indian Idol season 11. While Rohit Raut bagged the second spot, Ankona Mukherjee got the third spot.

After winning the trophy, Sunny was quoted as saying to The Indian Express, “I had not thought of getting through the first round, leave alone winning the competition. I have come a long way and can’t believe that the journey has just started. From getting the opportunity to sing on such a big platform to winning the show is like all my dreams come true. I will always be thankful to the judges for mentoring and guiding me and to Sony Entertainment Television for giving me a platform to perform in front of legends of the music industry and an opportunity to meet so many stars. I can’t believe that the whole of India heard my voice and voted for me wholeheartedly to make me Desh ki Awaaz.”

Sunny was considered as a tough competitor for everyone from the very beginning. The talented singer mostly sang Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s song. He sang Afreen Afreen during his audition round, leaving everyone spellbound with his soulful voice. Sunny took home a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs along with a car and a contract to sing for T-series.
