Mika Singh banned by film body for performing in Pakistan at Musharraf relative’s wedding

New Delhi, Bollywood’s playback singer Mika Singh recently performed in Pakistan. A 30-second video tweeted by a Pakistani journalist went viral on the internet which showed Mika performing in Karachi, despite India severing all artistic and social ties with Pakistan in the aftermath of the removal of Article 370.

Taking strict against it, All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) on Tuesday banned Mika from the Indian film industry for performing at an event in Karachi, Pakistan. Reportedly, the event in Pakistan was organised by former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf’s close relative.

AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta in his statement was quoted saying on Tuesday, “AICWA takes a stand of boycotting all his association with movie production houses, music companies and online music content providers.”

The film association further stated, “AICWA will make sure that no one in India works with Mika Singh and if anyone does, they will face legal consequences in the court of law. When the tension between the countries is at the peak, Mika Singh puts money above the nation’s pride.”

AICWA has also sought the intervention of Information and Broadcasting ministry into the issue.
