He will be pitted against Rahul Gandhi.
Ending speculation, Congress Sunday announced that party president Rahul will contest from the Wayanad parliamentary constituency in Kerala along with Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made by senior party leader AK Antony at a press conference. “Rahul Gandhi will contest from Wayanad parliamentary constituency in Kerala,” Antony said. There were several requests for Rahul to contest from Wayanad, he added.
Shah tweeted on Thushar: “Vibrant and dynamic youth leader, he represents our commitment towards development and social justice. With him, NDA will emerge as Kerala’s political alternative.”
There are a lot of murmurings in the political circles as Congress President Rahul Gandhi is contesting from two places this time. Does that also mean that Rahul Gandhi is not sure of his Amethi seat where he is pitched against Smriti Irani? Amethi has been a stronghold and a traditional seat of Congress.
