New Delhi: Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s first gold medalist is set to become the next sporting messiah for his country. For a country obsessed with its cricketing and hockey heritage, this gold medal will trigger a new revolution for the country in multi-sporting events.
Moreover, Nadeem’s medal also triggered worldwide headlines as it was the first gold medal in any individual sport for any Pakistani javelin thrower. Pakistan had previously won only the bronze medal in the Olympics in individual sports.

The first thing that Nadeem is expected to receive is a huge cash prize of more than 150 million Pakistani Rupees (which is valued at more than 4.5 cr in INR and at USD 538,000). This award is bifurcated into the following parts:

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Punjab (Pakistan side) Governor- 2 million PKR
Nadeem, CM of Sindh- 50 Million PKR
Kamran Tessori, Sindh Governor- 1 Million PKR
Ali Zafar, Pakistani Singer- 1 Million PKR
Ahmad Shahzad, Former Pakistani Cricketer- 1 Million PKR
Other perks announced
On the other hand, according to a unanimous decision by the lower house of Pakistan Nadeem is set to receive the Nishan-e-Pakistan which is the highest civilian award of the country. The report was confirmed by Radio Pakistan.
Another strange but interesting tribute has come from Beacon Energy who have confirmed that they will be gifting the Pakistani javelin a solar energy system.
Syedaal Khan, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate has organised a dinner in honour of Arshad’s win in Paris while Murtaza Wahab, the mayor of Karachi has announced the opening of “Arshad Nadeem Athletics Academy” to develop more future stars like Nadeem.
