Lucknow: Union Minister and BJP’s national president JP Nadda on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only pan-India party and represents the “present and future” of the country which will make India develop by 2047.

While addressing a meeting of the BJP working committee, Nadda said, “In 2016, on June 12 and 13, then BJP President attended BJP’s working committee meeting where he stated that the BJP is the party of present and the party of the future. We need to understand that this is not our seasonal responsibility, we have abided by this responsibility forever. The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections are proof that the public has mandated us under the leadership of PM Modi Ji to make India developed by 2047. That’s why BJP is the party of the future and the need of the hour is to be aware of our responsibilities.”

“Results have shown that no party can register a victory in all areas of the country. If one party has conquered north-east, then the other is unable to conquer central India. Bharatiya Janata Party is the only pan-India party. It is everywhere, whether north, east, west, south, or northeast. We are the representatives of 140 crore people,” said Nadda.

He added that BJP is the only party with the agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwaas, Sabka Pyaar and said that there are 1500 political parties in India and most of them are engaged in nurturing their own agendas.

“BJP is the party that has the capability to change the circumstances. We are people who have the capability to change the circumstances. In the BJP, everybody is a worker, nobody is solely a leader. BJP workers fulfill their responsibilities while handling the challenges,” he added.

He also termed the Congress party a “parasite” and said they stand on the support of regional parties and later destroy them.

Speaking on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections result, “Congress party is in their happy mode, but I want to say that their number of MPs from the last three elections is not even equal to our number of 240. INDI alliance should note that their number is still less than BJP’s number of 240.”

“In 13 states, Congress is in zero position with 0 MPs. In Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, where the BJP and Congress were in a direct tussle on 64 seats, BJP won 62 seats whereas Congress managed to win just 2 seats. In the places where Congress has contested alone, it had only a strike rate of 26 percent and with an alliance, it had a strike rate of 50 percent which means Congress is dependent on other parties, just like a “parasite”. Congress is a parasite party that stands on the support of regional parties and later destroys the regional parties,” said Nadda.

On the reservation controversy, Nadda stated that it was the Congress party which tampered with the Constitution and provided reservations on the basis of religion.

On the Congress’ allegations of tampering with the Constitution, he stated, “You tell me who tried to tamper with the Constitution? The Congress party has toppled the elected government 90 times. Congress has given reservations on the basis of religion in Andhra Pradesh. These are the people who killed the Constitution and democracy.”

Various Congress leaders have slammed the decision to observe 25 June as “Samvidhan Hatya Diwas” on which Nadda stated, “They were very upset with the declaration of the “Samvidhan Hatya Diwas” but the truth is that they tried to change the Constitution many times. The only way to take the country forward is BJP.”

On Ram Mandir pran-pratistha ceremony, Nadda said, “They talk about Ram Mandir. We had said during the elections that Ram Mandir is not an election issue for us, it is an issue of faith for crores of people. We had said in the 1987 convention that we would play a stellar role in building the Ram Mandir. We have fought many times for this resolution, we sacrificed many governments, not just once but many times. We faced many difficulties. But, finally, in January, we witnessed the pran-pratistha of a grand temple of Lord Ram.”

Highlighting the economic achievements of the PM Modi government in past 10 years, Nadda said, “We fought against appeasement and improved the economy. We all Indians are sadhu kind of people, but for some time we became more servants and less political. Remember how things were before 2014, the country was called corrupt, policies were failing, the PM was called remote-controlled, there was anarchy in UP, businessmen were leaving the state, and investments were not coming. That is why I say that we should not forget our past.”

While attacking the Congress party, Union Minister Nadda also emphasized the developmental aspects that changed during the regime of PM Modi in the last 10 years and said, “I don’t understand why these Congress brothers and sisters seem to be educated illiterates to me. They talk about inflation and unemployment. After Covid 19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, if the IMF calls anyone a bright country, it is India. Moody’s and other reputed agencies have predicted that India’s growth rate will be 6.8 which is more than America, the UK, Germany, and Japan’s economies. I would like to tell these Congressmen that I can cure their eyes but how can vision be cured? Today India is contributing 15 percent to the world economy. Uttar Pradesh has become the second-largest state in the country in the economy.”

Highlighting UP’s Yogi Government’s achievements, he said, “Before 2017, the condition of Uttar Pradesh was very bad but today people can reach Mathura in two hours, it is because we have laid the foundation of various expressways and elevated roads. Today, there are floods of expressways in UP, elevated roads, underpasses, bypasses, medical colleges, and AIIMS were built in 10 years. Today I can say with pride that world-class health systems have been created in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, eastern Uttar Pradesh. Had you ever thought of these things before 2017?”

Earlier in the day, the Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party started its State Working Committee meeting at the Ambedkar Auditorium of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Law University in Lucknow on Sunday, the first meeting on the party’s poor performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, winning fewer seats than expected.

The meeting is a big one-day meet. Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CMs Brajesh Pathak and KP Maurya and other ministers and workers are among those present.

The main agenda of the meeting is the passing of political proposals, which will be placed by the working committee, along with tributes to be paid to the party workers and officials who have passed away working for the party.

The political proposal will include discussions on the upcoming by-elections for 10 seats, a review of the Lok Sabha elections, and the future roadmap.
