New Delhi: A video of a huge crocodile on the roads of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra is going viral on social media. Reportedly, the reptile was seen roaming freely at night creating a jam in the pathways of Chiplun. Meanwhile, a passerby recorded a video of the incident and shared it on X (formerly Twitter). The clip went viral, soon after being uploaded on the social media platform.

In the video, the crocodile is seen strolling on the wet streets of Ratnagiri. While an auto-rickshaw driver follows it to make a video without fearing for his life, others take a U-turn to save themselves from the massive predator. The exact date and location of the incident are still not confirmed.

The video was shared by the handle ‘Shiv Aroor’ along with a caption saying, “A large adult Mugger crocodile on the roads of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, after heavy rain last night. Hope she/he is safe.”

As per the reports, the Meteorological Department has predicted a downpour in Ratnagiri till July 2. The officials have also advised the locals to stay alert.

Meanwhile, as the video went viral on the internet, netizens gave mixed reactions in the comment section. While some showed concern for the reptile, others made fun of the incident.

One user wrote, “OMG..! That crocodile must be so stressed!!! Hope he found his way out of humans.” A second one said, “Crocodile ko itni raat ko akele nhi ghumna chahiye,kuch bhi ho skta h uske saath wnha (Crocodile should not roam alone so late in the night, anything can happen to him there).” Whereas, a third user showed concern saying, “It has, unfortunately, strayed from its habitat. We humans encroach so much, that this inevitably happens. Hope the concerned officials, have helped the Crocodile to return to its natural habitat safely.!”
