New Delhi: Legendary Bollywood couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary today. The couple is seen as the most loved Bollywood couple and share a cutest love story. The two have also done films together and their most popular and super hit film is Ábhimaan’ which was a mega block buster. Apart from this, Jaya and Amitabh have worked in ‘Zanzeer’, ‘Chupke Chupke’ and ‘Guddi’.
Very few people know the fact that Amitabh and Jaya decided to marry after the success of the film ‘Zanzeer’. They are now grand parents to lovely Aaradhya, daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda, children of Shweta Nanda.Jaya Bachchan once said in an interview that ‘Amitabh is the biggest baby of the family during the show Koffee with Karan.
Amitabh met Jaya in 1970 when he visited the Pune Film Institute with a group of other actors. The interesting thing is Jaya was already a star and Amitabh just began his Bollywood journey. He first spotted her on the cover of a magazine and she caught his attention. They got a chance to work in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film ‘Guddi’. Amitabh was excited to share the screen with Jaya in the film.
Jaya was once asked about Amitabh in an interview and this is what she said, I first met him on the sets of Guddi, I was truly impressed by the fact that he was Harivash Rai Bachchan’s son, although people laughed when i said he was special, I was genuinely impressed by him. I never saw him as a typical Hero. I believed he had the potential to be a versatile star. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him’.
