New Delhi: Following the massive success of Christo Tomy’s true-crime documentary Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case, global OTT giant Netflix is all set to roll out another compelling crime-based web series titled The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth.
Based on the heinous & infamous Sheena Bora murder case, the documentary series will dig into the spine-chilling tale of a woman who was held guilty of abducting & brutally murdering her own daughter with the help of her husband and driver. Inspired by Sheena Bora’s abduction & murder case, The Indrani Mukerjea Story will arrive on OTT platform Netflix from 23 February downwards. To watch the series, one will need to have a basic subscription to the digital platform’s service.
Helmed by Shaana Levy and Uraaz Bahl, The Crime- the documentary will circle the mysterious disappearance & murder case of a 25-year-old executive Sheena Bora that took place in Maharastra back in 2012. It will further showcase how after a prolonged period of investigation, media frenzy & conspiracy theories, Sheena’s case took an unexpected twist when her mother Indrani Mukherjea was arrested for her murder in 2015 and later held guilty for the same.
Be it for the young girl’s disturbing disappearance or the way her body was dumped in a remote forest & set ablaze by her own family to erase evidence, the pre-planned gruesome criminal case shocked the entire nation and went on to become one of the most talked about scandals of that decade.
