New Delhi: ‘Bitconned’ is a film based on the financial frauds in bitcoins and it sends out a strong message to the people in the financial sector. The film revolves around how hackers and fraudsters fool the common man with the help of technology and Artificial intelligence. No matter how many laws have been passed and strict rules are made, these frauds still manage to extort money from victims.

Trailer and Plot of the Film
The story of the film moves around how three men exploit the crypto currency market to extract millions of money from the investors. The film focuses on the Centra tech scam by Ray Trapani and his associates Sohrab Sharma and Robert Farkas. The film also features the Journalist who exposed the scam. Netflix released the trailer on December 5th, that reads “Ray Trapani had always wanted to be a criminal, even as a young boy.

In 2017, amidst the economic frenzy of the Bitcoin boom, there was no better place for scammers than cryptocurrency. So when Ray’s friend approached him with the idea of creating a debit card for crypto, Trapani jumped at the chance.” It also adds that “There was only one problem: he had no idea how to do that. But thanks to fake LinkedIn profiles, paid celebrity endorsements, and the online community’s insatiable desire to “get rich quick,” Centra Tech was soon raking in millions of dollars a day. Was it real? No. But did it work? Maybe.”

The film is directed by Bryan Storkel and the director is known for his works like ‘ The legend of Cocaine Island’ and the ‘Pez Outlaw’.
