Merry Christmas: Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi-starrer flick gets postponed, to release on this date


New Delhi: The announcement of Merry Christmas, a film directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring the powerhouse pair of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, caused quite a stir. The film’s producers have announced a new release date and explained why the film’s initial December 8 release date had to be pushed back.

The film Merry Christmas will reportedly hit theatres for the first time on January 12, 2024.

On Thursday – November 16, the filmmakers presented a brand new poster for the movie as well as revealed the new release date for the movie. The film’s creators, while sharing new promotional posters for the film, said, “The wait is almost over! #MerryChristmas is making your winter merrier on January 12, 2024.”

According to the name of the movie, its debut was supposed to take place around the Christmas season, but the release was pushed back to prevent competition with other movies. Along with the announcement of the film’s release date came the unveiling of a brand-new poster that featured Katrina and Vijay. It depicts Katrina seated in a restaurant as Vijay observes her from the opposite table in the same establishment.

Vijay seems to be deep in thought in another poster, which was published by the film’s producer, Ramesh Taurani, on his Twitter account. The poster also has three photos of Katrina hanging on the wall behind him.
