New Delhi: Early indications suggest that Vijay-starrer Leo, which has been plagued by controversy, had a successful opening day at the box office.

Among the many upcoming 2023 movies, Leo has the most buzz. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi were only a few of the languages where the film was made available to the public. The film has mostly gotten excellent reviews, while some viewers were not happy with 2nd half. The film’s first day of release, however, was met with a massive success at the box office.

Apparently, Leo had the “biggest worldwide opening” of any Kollywood film, according to Sacnilk. After their success with Master in 2021, Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj are reuniting for this flick.

First-day estimates in India put the film’s total earnings at more than Rs. 74 crores. Leo is expected to make roughly Rs. 140 crores on its opening day globally, which includes an estimated Rs. 66 crores from previews in the international market.

Leo has broken opening day records in South India’s Kerala and Karnataka states, with the former seeing its first-ever single-day profits of over Rs. 11 crores and the latter reaching over Rs. 14 crores.

Sacnilk predicts that the film will earn Rs. 30.00 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs. 15 crore in AP-TG, and Rs. 4 crore in ROI. This anticipation points to a total gross of Rs. 74 crores from India. The expected global revenue is Rs. 140 crores, while the foreign amount is expected to be Rs. 66 crores.

Early reports from Sacnilk indicated that on October 19, the actioner was 86.92% full.
