Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad killed in police encounter

New Delhi: In a major development in Umesh Pal murder case, the Uttar Police Special Task Force (STF) on wednesday gunned down mafia don Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad Ahmed in an encounter.

The UP STF killed 2 dreaded gangsters Asad Ahmed & his assoacite Ghulam, during an encounter in UP’s Jhansi. Both Asad & Ghulam were among the most wanted list of UP police and carried an award of Rs 5 lakh on their head.

Both these gansters were part of the gang that killed Umesh Pal in braod daylight by pumping bullets & hurling bombs at his car. After the day-light killing of Umesh Pal, these gangsters had fled the spot and have been on the run since then. Their encounter comes more than one and half month after the daylight shootout.

Notably, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had said on floor of the Assembly that the mafias & dons will be crushed to the soil under BJP rule and criminals must not expect any leniency.

This coms as a major blow to gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed as he himself is appearing in court over his alleged involvement in Umesh Pal murder case. The mafia, once a dreaded name in Uttar Pradesh even wore a frightened look yesterday while he was being brought from Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail to Prayagraj prison.

When queries by reporters, Atiq said, he & his family was broke.

“My family is in deep trouble. They will kill me”, Atiq told reporters from police van.

The encounter of Asad & Ghulam has evoked positive response from the people as well as police fraternity. The criminals, who killed Umesh Pal while taking law & order for a ride, also killed his secuirty guard. They also reportedly used foreign licenced weapons during the day-light attack in Prayagraj.

UP police as well as the state govt was at the receiving end, following the audacious attack & day light murder.
