Elon Musk follows PM Narendra Modi on Twitter, netizens react

New Delhi: Twitter CEO and billionaire businessman Elon Musk started following PM Narendra Modi on April 10. The Twitter account Elon Alerts, which monitors his account activity, tweeted about the update this morning. Currently, he follows 194 accounts on Twitter, including the world leaders like Barack Obama and Rishi Sunak.

The news has led to netizens pouring in their reaction on Twitter. The supporters of PM Modi are citing it as another example of him being a global leader. Meanwhile, some are also expecting Tesla’s factory in India as Musk in the founder and CEO of the automobile company.

Official partner of Tesla Owners Club Program, TOC San Joaquin Valley also reacted to the news and wrote, “…no growth story here.”

Elon Musk being the most followed person on Twitter, enjoys 134.3 million followers, and according to a report by Guinness World Records, Twitter has approximately 450 million monthly active users and Musk has about 30 per cent of the total Twitter users following him. On the other hand, PM Modi has 87.7 million followers and he follows 2535 accounts.

PM Modi met Elon Musk back in September 2015 at the headquarters of Testla Motors. He learnt about Tesla’s Solar Powerwall technology and the batteries.

Elon Musk became the CEO of Twitter in October last year and he then had about 110 million followers. Within about five months period, the billionaire has left behind Barack Obama and singer Justin Beiber to become the most followed user on the social media platform.
