New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, set to reply to the Motion of Thanks on President’s address in Lok Sabha on Wednesday, drew eyeballs of fellow Parliamentarians & media alike because of the special blue jacket that donned today.

The special feature of the blue jacket is that it has been made from recycled plastic bottles. It is reportedly the same jacket, made from recycled PET bottles, that was presented to him by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) during the India Energy Week in Bengaluru.

The Energy Week was held recently, to showcase India’s emergence as energy transition powerhouse. The organizers of Energy Week also stated that more than 10 crore PET bottles will be recycled in near future, to make sustainable garments for India Oil employees and Armed Forces.

While the House awaits PM Modi’s reply to Motion of Thanks, along with his possible counter to Rahul Gandhi & opposition’s jibes, his blue jacket has also become a talking point on social media.

By wearing jacket made from recycled plastic waste, PM Modi has again underlined the need & government’s thrust on going green in all sphere of life.

Recently, Modi govt kick-started National Green Hydrogen Mission to facilitate transition of economy to low carbon intensity and reduce dependence on fossil fuel imports.
