Zomato’s Annual Report: Delhi resident made 3330 orders this year with 9 meals/day

New Delhi: Zomato’s Annual Report is out and it is funny and insightful like everything with Zomato. Catching all the eyeballs was Ankur, a resident of Delhi who made 3,330 orders in 365 days according to the report. Estimated at 9 food orders per day, Zomato crowned Ankur the “Nation’s Biggest Foodie” honouring his passion for food.

Posting the trends in its report Zomato mentioned that ‘Biryani’ once again was the most-ordered meal in 2022. Mentioning that in 2022, Zomato users ordered 186 biryanis each minute! Biryani held the crown for the most popular meal even on Zomato’s competitor, Swiggy with 137 biryani orders per minute. If Biryani came first, shortly second was Pizza in the winner’s line. The second most popular meal on Zomato was Pizza, Pizza lovers this year made 139 orders per minute.

One Mumbaikar used promo codes on orders and was able to save a total of Rs. 2.43 lakh this year. Despite this massive saving, Mumbai was not the city that used the most promo codes. The award for loving discounts the most went to Raiganj in West Bengal where according to the report, 99.7% of orders had a discount code.

Not just this Biryani wasn’t just the most ordered meal but was also a favourite across the country. A pan-Indian love for biryani came through in Zomato’s report. Swiggy’s most popular items menu included Tandoori Chicken, Butter Naan, Veg Fried Rice, Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Fried Rice, and Veg Biryani. Tandoori Chicken took second place after Biryani in Swiggy’s annual report.
